L-Feet Solar Bracket for Metal Roof

An L-Foot (or L-Bracket) is a mounting component shaped like the letter “L” used in solar racking systems to attach rails to roofs, particularly metal roofs. It serves as a bridge between the roof attachment point (like a screw or bracket) and the horizontal mounting rail where solar panels are installed.

Installation Method

1. Roof Connection

• For corrugated or trapezoidal metal roofs, L-Feet are attached using self-tapping screws or specialty mounting bases (like SolarFoot or SimpleSeal).

• Sealants or gaskets are used to ensure waterproof performance.

2. Rail Connection

• The horizontal leg of the L-Foot connects to aluminum rails using T-bolts or hex-head bolts, securing the rail horizontally.

3. Panel Mounting

• Solar panels are then clamped onto the rail system using mid-clamps and end-clamps.
